Emotional Wellbeing
Self-leadership Through Difficult Emotions
In this workshop, Amy focuses on embedding emotional wellbeing for high performance and psychological safety at work while creating the conditions for growth through adversity.
Life can often be tough in our complex and changing world. But with self-compassion, we can create acceptance of, and a path through, difficult emotions for ourselves and our colleagues. When we allow ourselves to gain strength through adversity, we boost wellbeing, engagement and energy.
Self-leadership is an essential part of our work and we can build capability to turn towards difficult feelings, process them and manage them for our individual and collective gain.
The methods are there to learn when we allow ourselves the space to recognise and evaluate our emotions.
Being able to manage our emotional responses enables us to control how we perform, especially in times of overwhelm. Shining a light on our patterns of behaviour means we can better respond — rather than react — during difficult times.
This workshop is designed for individuals who are experiencing difficult times and/or change. It is also very useful for team leaders or those in stressful roles who would benefit from leading their own emotions rather than being controlled by them.
In an organisation, these emotional management skills are essential for psychologically safe spaces where people can do their best work.
Developing emotional wellbeing enables us to pause and reflect on how we have coped during difficult times, then refocus on moving forward as our best selves.
Dr Amy Silver is one of Australia's leading voices in the area of emotion management and psychological safety for self and teams. Using the six-stage model (shown above) of managing emotions through self-regulation from her best selling book on the management of fear, Dr Amy will give participants not only tools and techniques, but confidence in themselves so that they can cope in difficult and changing circumstances.
Emotional wellbeing helps to create the conditions for resilient teams who can perform, safely and sustainably, even when under pressure.
